Today the Wellington Phoenix played Gold Coast United. It started at 7.30pm, in the 6th minute Paul Ifill scored a goal for the Wellington Phoenix. So the score was 1-0 to the phoenix! Then Shane Smeltz scored a goal for Gold Coast he is a really good player he also plays for the All Whites. It was 1-1. Then phoenix scored a goal just before half time "Go Wellington Phoenix!" The second half was exiting and the Phoenix scored another 2 goals which made the score 3-1. Then the Gold Coast started to attack the Phoenix goal and Mark Paston did a great save. It was a miracle for Gold Coast United they scored 2 more goals and that made the score 3-3. All the Phoenix supporters took their shirts off with 10 minutes remaining (It's a tradition that started last year when the phoenix made the semi-finals) and the final score was 3-3 last year the Phoenix beat Gold Coast 6-0 so they have improved alot.
